  1. Kia ora Fatima,

My name is Rachel and I am working with Megan and Cia this summer on the Summer Learning Journey programme. It is so great to see that you are participating this year! Like you, I would also love to visit Tane Mahuta. It is a very special tree located in a beautiful forest. Apparently, the tree is somewhere between 1250 and 2500 years old. Wow - that is pretty incredible. I wonder what it was like in New Zealand when Tane Mahuta was just a small seedling, thousands of years ago. What do you think? Would things have been really different here in New Zealand 1000 years ago?

I hope that you will have time to write back and that you'll continue on the Summer Learning Journey this year. It's going to be a great summer of learning, creating and sharing that learning on our blogs!

Hope to see you online again soon.

    Warm regards,
    Rachel :)
